Port Stanley Festival Theatre
302 Bridge Street, Port Stanley

Port Stanley was incorporated as a village in 1874. The original town hall was situated on Main Street, but in 1927 was relocated to the present building on Bridge St. Thirty five years ago, the Port Stanley Festival Theatre leased the top floor and has been operating a very successful summer theatre here ever since. In 2000 they purchased the whole building from the Municipality of Central Elgin, announcing plans to turn the building into a self sustaining cultural centre housing the theatre, the Port Stanley Community Library and the archives of Heritage Port. Visitors to Doors Open can tour the building and be treated to a back stage tour on which they will learn first hand about the challenges and excitement of summer theatre. They will also have a chance to view the extensive renovations which are under way this year and see what is in store for this marvelous old building.
